3:00pm to 6:00pm

First prize $100. All other entrants are eligible for other prizes.
Entries must be at least one gallon - $10 entry fee.

Enter the contest by Oct. 1 and get a free Zoo T-shirt!

$6.00 buys your tasting bowl and official Ballot to vote for your favorite entrant.
$5.00 with a donation of nonperishable food. Pet foods also accepted (they have to eat too!)
Special prizes for cornbread entries
Proceeds go to Northwest Harvest Food Bank

Official Rules for the Eastlake Zoo Chili Cook Off

The following rules are to be adhered by all cook off contestants:

1. True chili is defined as any kind of meat or combination of meats cooked with chili peppers, various other spices, and other ingredients, however vegetarian chili may be entered. With the exceptions of items such as beans or spaghetti, store bought, canned, or take-out chili is strictly forbidden.

2. The entry fee will be $10.00 per chili entered.

3. All ingredients must be pre-cooked and treated prior to the event; chili is to be brought “ready to eat”.

4. Contestants are responsible for supplying all of their own utensils and products relating to their chili. Spoons and bowls used for serving chili will be provided. Contestants can provide condiments, however not required.

5. Each contestant must cook a minimum of 4 quarts of competition chili.

6. Each contestant will be assigned a “contestant’s number” by the Zookeeper.

7. Judging will be based on people’s choice 100%.

8. Each contestant is responsible for cleaning up the area at the end of the day and removing all items from the area.

9. Register by October 1st and receive an official Eastlake Zoo T-shirt.

10. Name your chili.
